I am hoping that someone familiar with monarda can help me. I have several bee balm plants that I noticed a growth on and am was worried about it being Aster Yellows disease. I am not very familial with them. I tryed doing research on line and found several pictures that seem to suggest the growth I am seeing may just be normal so I am hoping that someone here can verify that there's does same thing. Here are a couple of pictures

Maybe these are more in focus.

Sometimes Monarda likes to shoot another smaller flower out of the original flower. I'm not exactly sure what causes it, but mine also do that from time to time. I don't think my native Monarda fistulosa has done it, but the Monarda 'Jacob Cline's do. Maybe it's something to do with being a hybrid?
