Messing with nutrition students

Thought this was kinda funny to do on a quiz...although this is a 300-level course, I had no one get the correct answer :-/

Hopefully this is a better shot. It says, “Bonus: In what USDA Plant Hardiness Zone is Phoenix?” The answers I got were anywhere from, ‘no idea,’ to zone 1-7.

I guess it would be 9b. it gets hot there there in Phoenix in the summer, really hot. I love Arizona, as a state it has lots of different climate areas to chose from. Been to Sedona iin December and it snowed. Been to Ramsey canyon in September a nice 85 degrees. We have actually toyed with retiring there, but certainly up North.

The real question is... what is a hardiness zone

If this is a real question, it is a measure that gives you an idea of what plants will grow in your area, due to temperature and water norms.

BTW, I Aced those classes in College. Should have gone that direction and got a masters in nutrition. instead I chose hospital adm. more stress.
