Mealy bug and how I eliminate them

I use a very fine mist bottle so it penetrates every nook and cranny

, I mix 50/50 water and alcohol and just few drops of dishwashing soap.. First 24-36 hours, I think the pest dies because it hasnt moved, then the one I srayed 5 days ago all the eggs dried up.. This thing is effective and my plants seems ok..

Good advice! But is there anything for a teetotal who wants to kill aphids.. ?

Rubbing alcohol is a very good control for aphids, mealy bugs, some forms of scale insects, mites and white fly. But, it does, in certain circumstances, harm the leaves of plants if left on them too long before washing it off. If you use alcohol you must rinse it off 3 or 4 hours later and for this reason I don't use it. There are other safer organic products one can use such as Neem Oil and Spinosad, each of these for the specific type of insect they control.

So far, this mixture did not harm any leaves, used 3x already(2 weeks), I was waiting for some burns. I do however use a camera sensor air blaster to blow excess amount..
