Marigolds starting to bud

First year as a gardener—since I try to start all of my own seeds, this is the first time I've gotten to actually see the petals begin to emerge.
I'm currently growing 8 Marigolds and 3 Celosias in my front yard. If anybody else wants to share their budding flowers, I'd love to see (˶˙ - ˙ )

I have multiple marigolds that are volunteers mixed in with other pollinator attracting flowers in an area dedicated to them....and they are just now beginning to bud.

I did plant seeds in years past but not this year and seems I have no shortage of Marigolds on the verge of blooming out.

Wow! I love the colors, the yellow ones look beautiful

Most all of my bloomers are zinnias and wild bergamot right now, but the Marigolds should be joining in blooming very soon in what I hope is an interesting array for the pollinators.

Updates on my Marigolds ~

The first plant that began to sprout has grown a lot since I started this thread... now the one adjacent to it is beginning to bud as well. If you look closely at the second image, you can see where the petals are beginning to emerge from!

It's amazing how vivid the colors are already, I've seen fully-grown Marigold flowers in person and none of the ones in-store seem to be as bright. I wonder if they simply dull over time, or if there is a quality difference between home-grown and the large flower farms.
