Hi. I am an amateur lupin grower. My lupins are surrounded by glass for protection against strong winds. I understand that lupins do not require care throughout the winter season. In the meantime what I would like to know is, after deadheading should I continue the watering with the hope that it will continue to produce flowers?

Lupins are herbaceous perennials so will die back over winter and re-shoot in spring. They can produce a second flush of flowers after pruning but they won't be as spectacular as the first. This also depends on climate. I've only lived in Scotland a few years and not tried growing them here yet, so I suspect being a shorter flowering season here they may not perform a second time.
