I planted lilies last spring. Should I dig them up for winter or leave them in the ground? If I need to dig them up, when? Before first frost? After first frost?

It depends on how cold your winter is and the temperature of the spot where you've planted them. I have -5c last year, but they have been ok as my garden is always sunny. If you do dig them up, you can scale some of them to increase stock. You can click here to watch the video

Being in Mississippi, you should have no problem just leaving them in the ground if they're mulched well.

We just leave them here in central Alabama zone 8a. We dig them when they become untidy and that is not often so it minimizes the work.
