Neem Oil when applied regularly has a repellant effect but AFAIK that is the only thing that repels them, Aside from harsh chemical insecticides the most efficient way to kill them is with pyrethrin insecticide. Most organic insecticides will not kill them but pyrethrin will. Pyrethrin is organic when it is not mixed with synthetics. It is made from the Chrysanthemum flower and kills all insects rapidly including bees. The best way to control them is to kill the nymphs when they hatch using insecticidal soap or to smash the eggs which are found on the underside of large-leafed plants such as squash.

I’ve been hunting down with Safer Soap, but I have to be careful that I don’t spray any other beneficial insects. It won’t help this year, but next year it was suggested to me to plant some sunflowers a little ways away from my garden to lure them away and then kill them over there. Another suggestion was to but Dawn detergent in a spray bottle and spray them with that and it will kill them.

Soaps will NOT kill the adults, only the nymphs. I have had sunflowers in my garden but the leaffooted stinkbugs ignored them and went for the squash. And you have to check the underside of all the leaves every 3 or 4 days for eggs and/or nymphs.
