Beautiful aren't they! I have a few blooms on mine at the moment also. It's interesting, here (maybe everywhere), they bloom in both Spring and Fall. My wife will cut some and put them in a vase, they are a very attractive cut flower. I find them to be very sturdy overall.

In one of my classes the instructor mentioned yellow Bird of Paradise and suggested they were breed that way, to be a more garden complimentary color, as orange was harder to design with. Personally I like the orange and the contrast it provides with the plant itself and in the garden.
