Another plant from work that I am going to take home and (try to) save.

I have looked it up as the person does not know what it is and I am sure it is a Dendrobium Orchid? Am I right?

If yes, it looks like it desperately needs repotting, which i will do. It looks like it is currently in normal soil but online it says it needs to be in special orchid mix, which is it?! any help appreciated!

It doesnt have to be ceramic.
You can use any pots
..... my personal favourite is plastic with holes poked at the sides (with a candle and a screw driver)
You can also use a piece of clean driftwood and mount orchids on it

Thanks for your help! Will purchase a bigger pot/some proper mix and repot it as soon as I can.

As you can see in the photos there seem to be remains of the old flowers on it, do I leave these or shall I cut them off?

No problem.
You can make your own media...... charcoal bits+coco chips+broken pottery+broken brick pieces is what i used.

I dont see any old flower stem. Which are you talking about?

The little white bits on every other part of the stems. They feel very dry/like there is much not life in them. This is where the flowers were when my colleague originally got given the plant so assumed they were dead flowers!

You don't really need a big pot.
