I forgot that poppy seeds needed a cold period for best results I was hoping to sow some wild flowers and poppies after the last frost, I've read that they will grow but won't flower until their second year is there any varieties which flower in the first year if sown now?

The wild poppy is a red annual, will flower this year. Look on the packet, it should say and from a catalogue or online.:)
