Iris foetidissima

Hello all, not sure can anyone help me. I have irish foetidissima growing in the garden, all was ok until about 2 years ago I decided to prune it... I googled and said it's perfectly fine to prune the plant, but since then all I get is leaves and no more flowers. Did I manage to kill it? Thanks
