Hi!
My name is Eli and I write from Finland. A few months ago my family and I moved to a new home and with the arrival of spring ( currently 18 degree Celsius in Southern Finland can you believe? :D) we were surprised to learn that the yard has a beautiful small garden that certainly has received lots of care and love by the previous owners. We saw purple crocus bloom, then some white flowers ( sorry, newbie) , now colorful tulips and the apple tree is in its full glory. Soon the rhododendron will bloom. I am in love!

I humbly write to you to ask advice on how to keep all this beauty heathy so it can bloom again next year. I really hope I don’t mess it up!

I try to attach here some photos. What do you think?

The Siberian cypress is brown underneath, is this a sign of sickness? Also seems to be preventing some small plant underneath from receiving light, should I trim it?
Any idea of what is growing in the middle of the tulips? How to care for them?

Hello and welocme friend. You have a good start and plenty to do in growing season. I would cultivate around the base of the plants and aerate the soil. Also dig down deep enough to feel if the soil is dry or wet. You want to allow the soil to have wet to dry cycles. When you get to know the soil well, you will be able irrigate for the best water management. Your cypress may be real thirsty from the looks of the leaves. Dig down and see if its bone dry and if it is put about 20 gallons of water on it. Keep us posted and Good luck friend.
