Identify this squash

My father picked this squash up from work and told me it was a Zucchini.... It sort of looks like a Zucchini, but it has a more velvety exterior, seems longer, and almost seems "soft" on the exterior. It also has long indentations that run along it. I've been searching online for a couple days and can't seem to find anything that matches it. I'm guessing maybe an heirloom variety of Zucchini? I've attached the picture below.

It looks like a Zucchini that has seen better days....should have been picked a few days (weeks) ago.
