Identify problem on the root of the tree

Can anyone help Identify this problem and maybe how to help fix it ? I live in Mass, and I water everyday but also have been having a very dry summer.

It isn't really a problem and will go away fairly soon. It is called Dog Vomit Fungus or Slime Mold.
