Ideas for this space?

Any ideas what may go well in this space (wall behind to the east, forward the pool straight west) a ground cover that would do well in 1/2 day sun?

Give us some more clues, do you just want the ground covered? Grass? Would you like some minimum maintenance flowers, like nasturtiums. Would you like it all the same, or are you looking for combinations? Would you consider small shrubby things, like salvias, minimal maintenance, or would you prefer herbaceous. Flowers, interesting foliage, insect attractors?
If you put forward general ideas like this I am sure people will find it easier to recommend individual plants.
