This was at the aquarium in New Orleans. It's a stunning plant, anyone know what it is? And is it two plants? The purple and the variegated?

I think it's a Tradescantia and just one plant. As with many variegated plants some leaves can revert to the original colour and if unwanted can be nipped out.
