Iceberg not heading?

I supposed that's the term? Anyway, several of them are shooting up flowers. I'm hoping to get a few heads from this batch, but most of them still look like this.

You may as well pull them up as they are bolting and will be almost unedible. Iceberg lettuce is not really for the climate of NW Florida. Overall the weather is too warm. It likes really cool nighttime temps and no higher than 75F in the daylight. You will have much better luck with leaf or bibb lettuce.

I did ok last year. Leaf lettuce I always struggle with for some reason.

Looks like they are bolting. You can try clipping the flowers but probably won't arrest the process. Mine are doing ok but I must get them out of the greenhouse.

I had actually tried that, but they were starting to flower again. I pulled them today. Still a few left that have bolted, but I planted Romain and spinach today. Well see how that goes.
