Recently purchased and planted hydrangeas about 30-45 days ago. Trying to find out is the plant dying or just changing colors? If it is only changing do we need to prune the old blooms? Ignore one in back rainfall has killed it and now getting gutters.

Sorry for the delay. They are changing colors because of the soil pH. When the flowers start looking bad you can snip the flower off. Snip the flower right above the last node leaving the green leaves. You don’t have to wait until the flower wilts hydrangeas make excellent cut flowers. You can grow these all year and have blooms for many years. Deadheading hydrangeas will keep your plants blooming into fall.

No need to apologize. Thanks for response. We thought they were changing since leaves were so green but wanted to make sure.
