My mums hydrangea is quite leggy wondering if I should cut it low to encourage thicker growth advice would be appreciated am in NZ last day of summer

how old is that? its in a pot. do you plan to earth plant it? if its young, like less that 2 years old, I would leave it alone. and plant it in semi shade, then next year ask us the same question.

Don't know but it was woody when mum got it a few months ago so assume it's 2 yrs and it will be staying in a pot on a deck of apartment

just leave it alone for now. do you know the type or the zone it thrives in?
