Hiya! I have 4 large planter boxes and 9 fruit trees - love growing things me and the fam can snack on. I also grow plants that like to snack, themselves. - I have been growing carnivorous plants for almost 3 decades (ugh). Wanted to say hello, and that I'm looking forward to learning from and sharing knowledge with all of you!

As tribute, here are some glamor shots of my garden and carnivorous plant collection (you can see more of my growlist on my collecto.rs/David profile):

Welcome to the forum CarnivorousPlantLover. :)

I have no knowledge of carnivorous plants so assume the plants take care of their own food as they are outside?

Welcome @CarnivorousPlantLover

I reside near the boundary of the "Big Thicket Preserve" which is home to several fascinating carnivorous plants, including pitcher plants, sundews, and bladderworts. It is said to be one of the best places in the U.S. to see carnivorous plants in the wild.

Thanks for the warm welcome!
The outdoor plants lure, capture, and digest all of their own prey.
Greenhouse plants are a little more tolerant of fertilizer, and because they don't have the opportunity to snag outdoor insects, get a foliar and in-trap/pitcher spray down every so-often.

Amazing! Have you ever gone bogging to check them out? I've yet to see Sarracenia (North American Pitcher Plants) in the wild - definitely a bucket list item for me!

I've been lucky enough to visit Darlingtonia Californica (Cobra lily) and a few Drosera (sundews) in the wild in Southern Oregon. SUCH a site - totally epic seeing thousands of Cobra lilies trace the banks of streams, following the path of cool water.

No, I haven't...but it is one of those things I've intended to do for several years now. Being this close, it is something I should have done long ago...but ranch life keeps me very busy. 🤠

If interested, I'll make it a point to walk some of the trails soon and post some pictures.
