Typical Colorado. It's been in the 70s, 80s, and 90s, for weeks, but on Friday, the 20th: the temperature drops to 31 degrees.
Will it help go cover plants with towels, or put some sort of cup, or pan, or bucket over them?
Should I dig the plants up, and bring them in for the night?
Any thoughts appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I would water everything before the cold. Then cover them. The best thing I know of to cover them is a product called Nsulate, available at most nurserys. The second best thing are plastic buckets with a couple of sheets of newspaper stuffed inside them

Thanks. What if I covered small plants with jars, and big plants with plastic bins? Would that suffocate the plants?

I don't know about glass jars but plastic bins are ok. I would still put some newspaper in it.
