hi. I received this cutting recently I have it propagating in water but I’m not sure what it’s called so I don’t know what kind of care it will need. The stem is skinny and has many nodes (similar to the way the Chinese evergreen stem looks but skinnier) any info on this would be so helpful!

Looks like Dieffenbachia. Very easy to grow and very forgiving of mistreatment. It likes filtered light and moderate moisture ( it's a tropical plant), but not soaking.
Can I leave it in water to grow like that indefinitely? I am all about plants that grow in water these days.... just makes it so much easier! Lol

you need to pot it once it show some root growth, here in my place, it doesn't need watering at all, except for summer.

Ok I will keep that in mind. I was thinking to pot it in AV mix with some added perlite when I transfer it. 50/50. Will that suffice?
