Hosta in Hawaii

Will Hosta grow in shaded areas that are a bit cooler (higher elevation) in Hawaii?

most plants have a zone range attached to them. so check that out. I know with mine they have a length of time that they look their best then they, in the fall start changing. But don't understand, in your area, you could find another type of plant that will offer the same look as your temps are open for other plants we don't have in the colder areas.
