I have a honeysuckle which I noticed yesterday has a lot of dead wood with only new shoots flowering.
I was thinking of cutting it right back once the berries have dropped or been eaten.

How far should I cut back and what time of year is best. Will I get flowers next year if I do this?

Thanks

Rach, it all depends on WHEN your honeysuckle flowers.........if it flowers early spring you can prune when flowering is over. If it flowers after mid summer then prune in spring quite hard to tidy up, etc.
So, do you know when it flowers, have the label or know the variety? :)

hi, it is in flower now so I should prune in the Spring then, it is at the back of my profile photo. spreads about 5 foot wide and prob about 2 foot deep in the thickest but most of that is dead wood behind the fresh growth :)
