Thanksgiving day here and I cannot find any buttermilk for my wife. I jumped on google and while I saw a milk producer had shut down 7 local distribution points, I also came across this little jewel of a video. I made an order myself. It looks good!

I've known that buttermilk could be made by adding an acid, such as vinegar and lemon juice.
More curious is why are they not selling buttermilk anymore in your area. Is there just is no retail market for it? I suppose there is no need to sell it since it can be easily made, but that is true of all types of convenience products.

We lost a fairly large dairy supplier in August. and 7 large distribution warehouses went away. They were out of unsalted butter in most places as well.

How troublesome, hopefully your local dairy industry will get its affairs in order. Perhaps some savvy agricultural investor will take advantage of this gap in the supply chain.
