Hello! So glad to find a great gardening place to hang out and exchange ideas, challenges, etc.! I have to admit Mr. Kerrie is the gardener in the family; however, since our youngest of 5 kids turned 3 (and Mr. Kerrie was out of town during growing season last year), I have fallen in love with gardening! I now know how to process tomatoes for freezing, how to make sauces and how to can. And flowers ... yes! Looking forward to meeting you all!

Nice! I've got family in Kansas City.
I actually have been growing tomatoes for a while but only attempted making sauce with them once... and it was disastrous, LOL. Your post reminded me that I should try that again soon!

I had to type it all up for posterity and for the kids! I was so proud of myself when I learned how to hot water bath tomatoes and freeze them that I did a post on that, too. I'm a blogging geek turning into a gardening geek and proud of it!

Wow!! Thanks for the link!! I am going to try that as soon as I have enough tomatoes ready (if I can stop eating them until I'm sick as soon as I get them off the plant, LOL). Those herbs sound like the most perfect combination, I'll be adding a bit more garlic to mine because I am a garlic fiend!

You're welcome on the link ... and ... aren't we all garlic fiends?! I used to hate tomatoes when I was a kid and now I love them on everything! Where are you in the world? ... are you getting tomatoes already? We just got ours planted, as it snowed here recently in the Midwest!!!!!!!!!
