It looks like something is eating away at my zz plant. Does anyone recognize this?

That doesn't look like leaf miners to me. Leaf miner damage has a squiggly pattern that doesn't harm the plant except in extreme cases.
Spinosad should generally do the trick if it's an insect problem. Check the underside of leaves to check for any bugs.
