Hello all! Thank you so much for your help. As you can see in the photo below, my monstera's leaves have begun to turn brown. They are covered in little black dots. I note there are no bugs on the plant, so this does not appear to be thrips. No larvae, no bugs, nothing moving anywhere on the plant at all. Just these odd tiny black balls which do not detach from the leaves. Does anyone have any idea what might be going on? Thank you!

Keep a good magnifier with you when growing tropical plants. Use a few yellow stickies close to the plants to help catch and identify an infestation early. You can take some rubbing alcohol and mix 1 part to 4 parts filtered water. Right away after you mix it put some on a rag and wipe down the plant leaves top and bottom of the plant. If it's bad you may have to use the liquid as a spray.
