Hi,

I'm not too sure what is causing this on my avocado leaves. They almost look like tiny pimples on the surface and then when I look on the underside it's a light brown colour maybe. Some have even turned into holes. I just can't seem to find out anything on Google. I thought some kind of pest but I can't see any insect at all.

Does any one have any ideas on what it is and how to treat it?

Thanks for any help ☺️

I believe this to be mite damage caused by what is called a Persea Mite. The damage looks like theirs but I didn't thing they were in the UK......yet. The best way to control them is using a spinosad based insecticide but you can't get it so the next best thing is Neem on both sides of the leaf and the entire rest of the tree. A minimum of 4 inches of mulch will help confuse their reproductive cycle. Mites are difficult to get rid of.

Thank you so much for your help, that is very useful! I have Neem oil so will do that today. I did a natural soapnut insecticide wash on Friday to hopefully do some damage control. Hopefully I can get rid of them.

Thanks again for your help.

If those spots start to turn a brown color it is probably rust, a fungal disease. Neem works on that too. You just have to have a spray regimen and spray longer
