Help my avocado is not growing

Throw it away. Avocados do not grow in your state. You need to live in Southern Florida or Southern California to get avocados from an avocado tree. All you may get indoors, even if you set it outside for summer, is a spindly tree with no avocados.

Google " list of fruit trees to grow in zone 6b." You'll find apple, cherry, pear, etc. Best to buy some 3-4' tall trees and plant them in full sun in your yard.

You have your avocado pit wrong side down in that water . . . If you want to start an avocado tree as an indoor plant, that's okay. But you are in the wrong zone for growing an avocado tree out of doors. Even if you were in the correct zone, it's a known fact that avocados do not grow true to seed and need grafting ---- odds are high that you'd end up with a tree that produces zero fruit.
