I bought this plant about a week ago and since it’s started developing small brown spots all over(it’s quite difficult to see in the photos) and at the stems of the plant it’s gone all brown. it’s also got little white speckles over the leaves, i read online about fungal, bacterial and root rot but i’m not too sure if any applies to this as it’s only just started happening. i don’t know much about house plants so i’ve came to ask what should i do? please help!!

My guess would be overwatering. It happens a lot in big box stores (when they don’t let them die of thirst). Make sure the plant is throughly dry before watering. Overwatering is a major killer of plants like the monsteras. I see healthy looking aerial roots at the base so be patient and figure out how long between watering to have the soil dry to a finger depth. If you do not have stems that are soft and mushy you are OK.
