Hello @helptoall - that is commonly known as a Kurrajong tree in Australia. It is popular for it`s ability to cast shade which is valuable in a heatwave. It seems to me that the tree surgeon knew very well what he was doing, and the remaining trunk looks as if it is already sprouting a lot of new growth. Hopefully, if they managed to remove all of the diseased part it will regrow in about 3 to 5 years. There is very little you can do to help it further - except maybe talk to it.
