Hello there! First Time Gardener here..

Hi there, I am ever so glad to have found this board about gardening. I grew up with my parents gardening in the backyard. We have veggies and fruits like mangoes, jack fruits, star apples, papaya, bananas, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, leafy vegetables and many more. I have seen them wake up each morning and pick some fresh veggies for our day meal. So yummy.

Now I have my own family I would like to start my own garden. I would like to plant orchids and roses. I also would like to plant my own vegetables in the backyard. Can't wait to start..

Welcome! Must have been nice growing up gardening, I grew up in what most would refer to as the concrete jungle (city life) now I live in a more rural area and there are gardens everywhere..including mine

Yes, living in a tropical country where the sun shines everyday lol. I am from the Philippines and it can get so hot. The weather plays a major role in gardening right? I am thinking if I can grow roses in a hot humid weather.

I just stated this in a different forum. But roses do well in hot, humid weather. They are pretty hardy and can take the heat. I have never tried growing orchids so I can't give you any advice about them.

Wow! How wonderful to grow tropical fruits. Your garden will surely leap out of the ground once you start.
