My name is Leon. I'm 21 and I grew up helping my mom in her flower shop and my grandma in the garden. I recently signed up for college classes in oriental horticulture. I signed up to talk about my journey through college and my gardening adventures with like minded people.

My favorite flowers are morning glories which I grew last year.

yep that is what it is known for.
while it is only 2 hours drive from me, have not been in years. My first experience with New Jersey was in 1979 where my first husband wanted to honeymoon in Avalon, NJ, and that was my first time seeing the ocean. I am from Ohio then, we have the lakes. So anyway my first impression of the ocean was the fishy smell and the gray looking water. Since then I have explored other parts of the USA and oceans to learn that the Ocean is a beautiful blue that you can see through and does not smell like fish. NJ is a long state very diverse. There is a thing in my area for many families growing up here that the tradition is to get summer homes rented at the "shore". The "shore" meaning Wildwood, Ocean City (still a dry town) Avalon. They reserve the rentals far in advance and love to boast about having one. Funny thing when I first moved to PA, this area, to hear how they pronounce the word "shore". There are also several towns that have interesting boardwalks. Atlantic City having the largest, along with many casinos . The crowds there are unreal walking the boardwalks. People watching can be very interesting and entertaining.
