I no sooner got my outdoor set-up ready for the seedlings, than the temperature plummeted! I had to leave my trays of seedlings in the barn for two days, then resume the "getting used to full sun" process.
We have strong spring winds but the barn provides some windbreak, and I try to get my seedlings used to being buffeted.
Children, puppies, and seedlings learn to be tough in Texas!

I lost all of my squash, melon and cucumber seedlings because of a frost a couple of days ago. Now I will just have to plant them all over, this time in the ground when it warms up enough

Now we all know what they REALLY mean when they say gardening is good exercise.

It's not just the digging, raking and weeding, it's the constant work of responding to a fickle mother nature.

Move em out, move em back. And repeat ...

By three o'clock, pigs and little children will be unbearable

Hey Zigs
If I was in zone 9 I would be warm all year just like Florida
are you in a real zone 9 or is that a metric thing ?

You have a lot of lovely forget-me-nots, Zigs:)
The weather has been crazy lately. Two days ago, the wind had been knocking over trees. Yesterday, it was snowing. Today it's raining:p

They've come on too early Claudine, I was going to take them up to the charity open garden, but that's over a month from now. Hopefully they'll slow down outside.

Cloudy drizzle here now, but a lot warmer, back to hardening off :)

The weather is warming up around where I live and we have not had a touch of frost that I recall in at least 3 weeks. I am sure I will be safe to plant my seeds next week. I will be on vacation from work and I am really looking forward to this project. I am going to have the kids help me paint some pots and everything!
