I went to Washington DC this Spring and I brought back some seeds that had fallen from a cherry blossom tree and managed to get one of them to germinate. The seedling looks very fragile and thin (so weak that it wouldn’t survive any wind outside) and I am wondering if this is typical of cherry blossom seedlings or if it indicates I got a bad seed. Other than being very fragile, the young plant looks healthy and keeps making new leaves. If anyone is familiar with growing these from seed I’d appreciate your input/experience. Thank you

Welcome Fitz. :)

I'm sorry but that isn't a Prunus (cherry) that your growing.
I stand corrected. I did some googling, and from the pictures it looks like it is actually an eastern redbud seedling. Still a nice tree, but I must have confused this with the cherry blossom trees when I was collecting seeds.
