Hi guys

I’m new to this forum and have a couple of questions. I have grown a couple of Cherimoya plants from seed. They have now sprouted and are doing well... I think. I have moved them inside because it is going into winter here in New Zealand.

I have a question about one of the seedlings. It is growing a stem between a new leaf and the main trunk. It has grown quite fast over the last few days and I was wondering if I should get rid of it... or will this hurt the plant?

Any help would be much appreciated

I have attached photos. Hopefully they come out

Will

Welcome Will. Glad to have you aboard. You have a couple of jewels there. I am not sure about this particular fruit but most trees follow the same rules. Are they ever grafted like citrus? If not, I would let it grow as is. I don’t worry about a tree until it is a year old. Is it your intention to eventually put this in the ground or will it be potted permanently? I really like learning about new plants so I will continue to investigate this fruit tree.
