Only if the grasshoppers are young and then you can control them with NOLO or colloidal clay.

Colloidal clay will turn everything white and washes off with dew and rain, but it works. I have found that some years are worse than others. A super wet year will keep them in check and low key, but a dry and hot one will help them thrive. I have lost a lot to grasshoppers in the past and have learned to just live with them. If you plant in the open and away for tall grass it will help because they fly in from tall grass. They migrate from tall grass to tall grass and so if theres no tall grass's or tall weeds in the area its helpful.
