My garden is all in containers because I am in a wheelchair, and find it easier now to tend containers. I have raspberries and also a Blackberry in a hanging basket. Two years ago I bought a containerised Rhubarb. For the last two years it has grown well but I have not harvested it, as advised. However, this year , so far, 5 shoots have appeared (three weeks ago), but having emerged have not grown more that two or three inches. I mulched it well over winter, and fed it with growmore in March. Since then I have fed it with Miracle grow.. The other containers are growing well. Any ideas why the Rhubarb is not growing?

Hi Roy! :)

No idea, rhubarb isn't really a big thing here. How big is the container?

Hiya Roy, good to see you here. My rhubarb is also slow this year, and I have been wondering about it - the same as you. Maybe it is because of the weather conditions....not sure where you are, but down here in Kent we have been praying for rain - still none this afternoon although they forecast it. The big dark clouds just seem to scoot across us and disappear :(
Maybe it just needs a dose of patience :)

Thank you all for the welcome.
Tetters, I live in South Wales so there is no fear of not enough rain!!
I've picked a couple of the small stalks and they are perfectly good. However the crown does seem to be very deep for some reason. Maybe that's the problem.
