I have this plant that has over-run my garden and yard. Plant id app says shiso. I'm not sure where it came from. Any idea of how to get rid of it?

It is a mint and almost impossible to eradicate. You could go the chemical route but you would kill everything else too. A lot of folks have tried vinegar and soap but since the plant is spread by underground runners it doesn't work worth a hoot. The same with keeping it mowed. After you have tried everything, the only thing left is to pull it up by hand and if it is widespread, good luck. The easiest thing to do is sell out and move.

Geeze- thanks! I was afraid of that when I saw it was in the mint family. guess thats why the deer want nothing to do with it! I'm pulling every plant but that may take years!

Well, I suppose you could fertilize it and make it a ground cover
