I love these two quotes because they're so cheerful:

Never really thought about gardening quotes until this one was pointed out to me:

“Gardening simply does not allow one to be mentally old, because too many hopes and dreams are yet to be realized. -Allan Armitage”

Must admit that all the older gardeners I know are very bright when it comes to general knowledge, topical conversation etc. Maybe this goes some way in proving that gardening does in fact help you to preserve your mental health… just a thought.:)

This one I have on my status. It's from an ancient Roman philosopher and statesman.

"If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need." - Cicero

Here is another good one by an English politician.

"I consider every plant hardy until I have killed it myself." - Sir Peter Smithers

I love these two quotes, they're very true, especially the one about weeds:
"A garden is a complex of aesthetic and plastic intentions; and the plant is, to a landscape artist, not only a plant - rare, unusual, ordinary or doomed to disappearance - but it is also a color, a shape, a volume or an arabesque in itself".
Roberto Burle Marx
"What is a weed? A plant whose virtues have never been discovered".
Ralph Waldo Emerson

Here is one on weeds that I liked
I learn more about God
From weeds than from roses;
Resilience springing
Through the smallest chink of hope
In the absolute of concrete....
~Phillip Pulfrey

Some more lovely quotes about flowers
Earth laughs in flowers. ~Ralph Waldo Emerson,
To be overcome by the fragrance of flowers is a delectable form of defeat. ~Beverly Nichols
I perhaps owe having become a painter to flowers. ~Claude Monet

This is one of my favorite quotes, it made me smile, I couldn't agree more with it:
"Spring is nature's way of saying, Let's party!"
Robin Williams
Today, during a walk in the park, I really felt like I was attending a party:D
And here is another lovely quote:

"The joy in seeing them grow" .. I'm sure we all can relate.

The quote below doesn't rhyme, it's not poetic, but true.

"The medicinal properties of Aloe Vera have been known and recorded since biblical times. It has been used for a variety of ailments, and as an ointment for burns, cuts, and rashes, as well as an ingredient in various beauty preparations. The sap of the Aloe is a thick gel-like substance and that is what is used medicinally."

It's very true! I'm a big fan of Aloe Vera, it's such a great plant. I prefer not to think how my skin would look like without aloe gel.
I found a poetic quote:

Here are a few more nice quotes, I'm not sure if any have been posted here before, one or two may have because they look familiar ..
  • I grow plants for many reasons: to please my eye or to please my soul, to challenge the elements or to challenge my patience, for novelty or for nostalgia, but mostly for the joy in seeing them grow. ~ David Hobson

  • Plants that wake when others sleep. Timid jasmine buds that keep their fragrance to themselves all day, but when the sunlight dies away let the delicious secret out to every breeze that roams about. ~ Thomas Moore

  • Trees and plants always look like the people they live with, somehow. ~ Zora Neale Hurston

This is a lovely, minimalistic quote - I like it, although I keep buying more and more roses:p :

Here are some quotes that I really love, they're so wise - and so beautiful:
Gardens are not made by singing 'Oh, how beautiful,' and sitting in the shade. - Rudyard Kipling
All gardening is landscape painting. - William Kent
Weather means more when you have a garden. There's nothing like listening to a shower and thinking how it is soaking in around your green beans. - Marcelene Cox
A good garden may have some weeds. - Thomas Fuller
I would say: a good garden should have some weeds:p
