I'm experimenting with a "rainbow tomato" plant in an indoor grow tent. The stem of my plant is very funky looking (almost square and looks like multiple stems that are merged together) and I've never seen this in any plant before. Has anyone else seen this happen or know why it might be growing this way?

Stop worrying about it. Pinch it out and be done with. Basically your aim is to have a plant that will yeild a good crop of fruit, so pinch out all weak sickly looking growths.

I think it's just what you suggested, three stems merged. Of there aren't any problems, leave it and see how it does.

This plant is from a single seed started in a peat pellet. Overall, the plant appears healthy so far...I'm just curious why it is growing so funky as I've never seen any plant grow this way lol.

As @Mike Allen mentioned, pinch out the shoot here
