Check out davewilson.com and their video series on backyard orchard care. As long as you give the plants sufficient water and nutrients they do just fine. Our (Cal Poly Pomona) Lyle Center for Regenerative Studies has developed an orchard of fruit trees from Dave Wilson Nursery based on the practices developed by the nursery. Tons of fun to work in!
