Friends plant. Trying to figure out what it is. Asian grandmother said is was a moon flower.

This a species of epiphytic 'jungle' cactus. There are several genera: Epiphyllum, Disocactus, Hylocereus, Selenicereus, etc. Without flowers it is hard to identify it further. The common name 'moon flower' may refer to one of the night-blooming species.
