Excuse my ignorance but what is grit? Grit to me is tiny stones you mix with compost to help drainage in flower pots.
Discussing freezing things I buy a lot of minced beef from the butcher. Cook it with onions then split into 3 freezer bags for freezing. First bag cook with peas and serve with mashed tatties. 2nd bag cook with ingredients for chilli and rice and the 3rd bag for making spaghetti bolognaise with more garden veg eg garlic. Or use one bag for cottage pie. If there are any left overs they make lovely cold mince sandwiches on bread for a late night snack

In this context, i.e. foods, it is "grits" not "grit".

Grits are made from ground corn either yellow or white and sometimes from hominy which is corn treated with an alkaline solution to remove the hull...my favorite. Grits are usually cooked by boiling in water and often flavored with butter.

Different types of grits include stone-ground, quick, instant, and hominy. Grits and over easy eggs...breakfast of champions. 🤠

Grits is the poor southern version of polenta. I'll use bacon drippings, plenty of salt and pepper. Some cheese and onions are nice additions.

Lots of stirring though.

Don't forget the greens!
