In Texas, some consider adding beans to chili a sin. ;)

But if they ever tasted "chili" made with home grown pinto beans, they just might change their tune.

Pinto beans, like corn, broc, cabbage, etc. etc., taste superior when homegrown and picked at the best time. Those dried, cardboard tasting things in the store they call pintos are woefully inferior to homegrown. We pick them just before fully ripe and then can them for later use. They cook significantly faster and taste superior to store bought not to mention they can be grown without any synthetics.

Our chili is made with garden pintos, tomatoes, jalapenos, and chilies and is it ever tasty.

Here's how the pintos look harvested:

and then shelled:

Pig and octopus are the ones that get me most, they are both such intelligent animals; sheep are stupid enough they almost deserve to be eaten.
Not a fan of shaun the sheep? The sheep are smarter than the farmer 🤣

Homemade mint jam and spring lamb 🐑 😋

My kind of lunch today...everything from the garden fresh picked. I absolutely love gardening this time of year because of what it produces.... yes, I lay the butter on thick.

My husband does not eat beef, and he does not like lamb/sheep. So stuck with pork, fish, chicken, turkey.
Once in a while I buy myself a nice steak and make him something else.
But here is a funny thing, he will order veal when we are out. Go figure. And sometime he will bring home WAWA chili and eat it. I give up.

Yes, WAWA is a popular convenience chain in PA. I actually saw a Wawa in Georgia last week. By my house there is a WAWA a mile from me on the right side of the road. And then a new shopping center was built a mile from me on the left side, another WAWA was put in there. And yes, there is a town called WAWA, PA. where it all began with just milk and cheese products. So how often do I go to Wawa you might ask, like hardly ever. Their gas prices are decent, so I may stop in for that. But If I go a little further down the street there is cheaper gas. WAWA recently started featuring Pizza, we tried it, it was yucky, but funny part, in my little town, there are 8 pizzas places.

Sounds a bit like our "Buc-ees" which started here and is now spreading northward and really all over. The one in the photo is in Ohio.

They made their rep on clean available rest rooms.
