Just a reminder, my garden is 3 acres, from the front door to the street is 100 paces. from the back door to the back border is 120 paces. I am always walking about picking up sticks/branches something when out.
Alone in 3 acres it is worth carrying your mobile, let's face it something stupid always happens sooner or later and it's good to be able to be in touch, my missus insists on it, and I am only on a quarter acre. I don't say about it works both ways, I can feel easy about her knowing she can call me too, somehow she thinks it is just me that gets hurt :)
Any way, check out 'fitness', it will be on the phone somewhere, and you will find there is a step counter, so you can be productive, enjoy the peace, still be in touch if you want, and have the fun of knowing how far you go.

My wife is the same way, always worried about me. Except she's the klutz.

Yes, I'm the one performing the dangerous actions but I'm aware and have balance!

meat pie, have gravy for it and salad. It's actually leftover meatloaf, with big dollop of carmelized onions on top and shredded Chedder cheese, pastry wrapped.

Recently my attention is on the home flour mills, using whole grain wheats etc. while I have yet to really start major research regarding its still interesting. Some things I need to chew on, is that its only the two of us, and we really don't eat that much bread. And I do have a lovely store down 20 mins from me that sells better bread than regular grocery stores, but probably does not mill their own flour. Still pondering. I hear the cost of the mill is high. Just thoughts for now.

We use a bread maker. The thing that convinces me is when I read the list of ingredients in bought bread, mine is yeast, flour, sugar, salt, butter and water, no flour 'improvers', palm oil, or any of those things I can't pronounce. Truly, some sliced, fancy, bought breads have a long list of ingredients on the packet and I reckon those that don't come packed are probably similar. The breadmaker makes a good pizza base as well, and cakes, but I have never tried that, it takes all the work out of kneading even if you don't let it actually bake the bread and take it out to make buns, almost as good a work saver as a washing machine.
PS, ever read Cottage Economy by Cobbet (The one who wrote Rural Rides)? A hilarious comparison between bread and potatoes, nothing makes a woman as fair and healthy as kneading apparently :) :)

We do that with hams, pork loins and corned beef after the respective holidays pass. Stores put them on sale for a deep discount. We've thought about turkey but nobody really wants the dark meat.

Maybe we can dehydrate it to be dog treats? Hmmm.

Dark meat, my favorite.
