I have an old pond outside house, which was drained out last year. Have been filling it in with earth gradually.
I have just had all the moss scraped off my roof of house (a lot of it) and my wife has thrown it all into the all pond. Should I leave the moss in there? I'm worried it will remain too damp in there once covered with soil as moss likes to hold onto the wet I think. Still need to add another couple of feet worth of soil on top of the moss until old pond is filled to the top. But my wife thinks that is good as she would like to put a couple of large hydrangeas in there.

Moss grows where it's damp and shady it doesn't create dampness. Once you bury it it'll die and decompose. It's fine
