Fertilizer ratio per gallon of homemade compost

I am making my own potting compost.garden loam ,peat and Sharp sand and vermiculite.
I am trying to find out what the nuitriant ratio should be per gallon of mixed compost.
Can anyone advise please

Yes, you are asking the wrong question. Its not by gallon of dirt, rather weight (mass) of water. What is garden loam please? Is this the purchased product also known as garden soil sometimes? Or dirt from your own garden? If so then good. Your mix in a pot will drain well. Your "formula" in water will be weak, because you will be watering once per week, 1 inch or so, and the chemical saturation of that water with those chemicals need to be reduced as all potted houseplants are fed. A water retention reserve plate or platter under the pots will help reduce this water regimen. Without a reserve you may well have to water daily, or every few days in our heat. Plus you can see water in a reservior plate, where else wise you have to stick your finger in the dirt to feel if its moist or not.

Hi dirt mechanic,
Many years ago I made my own compost using garden loam, (rotted turf) & sometimes garden soil plus the other ingredients as mentioned. I then added some fertilizers ie.lime etc. I measured the each of the ingredients using a 1 lt pot .I measured equal amounts of ingredients untill I had about a gallon size of mixture .I then added lime etc and mixed it all together. I just can't remember what I added and the amounts of each fertilizer to the gallon measurement. The loam whether rotted down turf or garden soil was steamed before use.

One trick is to use 6 inches depth for soil volume when following instructions for soil fertilzer. It will be harder to over do it. In this pic, MG potting mix of 2 cubic feet gives these percentages in the 2 cubic feet. The weight is given at 26 lbs. It says .21%-.11%-.16% for NPK. So if I understand the math, it is .0021N x 26lbs=.0545 lbsN per bag. Thats 5.5 percent of a pound right? Now why so low? The answer is likely to be that the system uses fertilized water and you could toxify everything quickly by starting with too much. The alternative of not watering like a in ground garden is not viable so I suppose it makes sense.

When I make potting soil I use the amount of fertilizer recommended for one plant but only if its a transplant and not a seed.
