i purchased a perfectly healthy dahlia two weeks ago. Since transplanting into a wooden pot with assorted flowers it continues to die. Everything else is doing fine.
The pot has drainage and is in a full sun location and on my deck away from ants etc...
I am thinking maybe it needs its own pot?
The flower buds open early and the plant is wilting.
If anyone knows how to help, I would greatly appreciate it!

Greetings, welcome to the Forums.

Your description of the growing conditions sounds adequate. This could possibly be a disease issue. Do transplant the Dahlia hybrid into its own container, both so you can more carefully monitor its soil moisture more precisely and also to keep it isolated from other plants, in case it does have a disease, such as verticillium wilt. When transplanting, double-check that the stem's attachment to the tuberous root is not damaged in any way.
